Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how to make us stop. Written in plain English rather than boilerplate.
Last updated: August 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how True Lift Garage Door (“True Lift,” “we,” “us” or “our”) handles information collected through www.trueliftgaragedoors.com (the “Site”) and in the course of providing garage door repair, installation and maintenance services in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area.
By using the Site, submitting a form, or calling or texting us, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit information through it.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact and service request details submitted through our estimate and booking forms: your name, phone number, email address, street address, ZIP code, the type of service you need, your preferred appointment time, and any notes you choose to add.
- Information you provide by phone, text or email when you contact us — including the details of your door, opener, property access, and scheduling preferences.
- Job and transaction records created when we perform work: service history, parts installed, warranty terms, photographs of the door or damage taken for documentation and insurance purposes, invoices and payment records.
- Feedback and correspondence, including reviews, complaints, warranty claims and any documents you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, time on page, and the dates and times of your visits.
- Cookies and similar technologies used to keep the Site working correctly, remember preferences, and measure how visitors find and use our pages. See Section 5.
- Approximate location derived from your IP address or the ZIP code you enter — we use this to confirm you’re inside our service area and to route the nearest technician.
- Call data. We may use call tracking to understand which marketing channels produce calls. This can record the number you called from, the number you dialed, call time and duration, and in some cases the call recording. Where calls are recorded, you will be notified at the start of the call.
Payment information
Card payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers on our systems. We retain only what we need for accounting and warranty purposes, such as the transaction amount, date, authorization reference and the last four digits of the card.
2. How we use your information
- To respond to your estimate request, quote your job and schedule an appointment.
- To contact you about a scheduled visit — including the text message we send when a technician is en route.
- To perform the work, order parts, and complete and document the job.
- To process payment, issue invoices and honor warranty claims.
- To follow up after service, resolve problems and, if you want to, invite you to leave a review.
- To send occasional service reminders, seasonal maintenance notices or promotional offers — only where permitted, and always with an opt-out.
- To improve the Site and measure marketing performance in aggregate.
- To detect and prevent fraud, protect our technicians and property, and comply with legal obligations including tax, permitting and insurance requirements.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact details with lead-generation networks, home-services marketplaces or other contractors.
3. Phone calls, text messages and TCPA consent
When you submit a form on this Site or give us your phone number, you expressly consent to be contacted by True Lift Garage Door at that number — including by telephone call, SMS/text message and email — regarding your service request, quote, appointment and related follow-up. You further acknowledge that:
- Consent may include calls or texts placed using an automatic telephone dialing system or a prerecorded or artificial voice, where applicable.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can always reach us by calling (314) 885-9565 without submitting any form.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message from us. Reply HELP for help. You may also call or email us to be removed.
- To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We will still send transactional messages about a job you have booked.
- Opting out of marketing does not remove your information from our service and warranty records.
Mobile information collected for the purpose of sending SMS is not shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party except the messaging service provider that transmits the messages on our behalf.
4. When we share information
We share personal information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers acting for us. Scheduling and dispatch software, hosting, email delivery, SMS providers, call tracking providers, payment processors, and accounting services. They may use your information only to perform services for us.
- Analytics and advertising vendors. Including Google Analytics and, where we run campaigns, Google Ads and Meta advertising tools. These vendors receive usage data and identifiers as described in Section 5.
- Parts suppliers and manufacturers when required to order a part or register a manufacturer warranty in your name.
- Financing partners if you apply for financing — you will be told who the lender is before you apply, and their own privacy policy governs the application.
- Insurers and adjusters when you ask us to provide documentation for a claim.
- Legal and safety. When required by law, subpoena or court order, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, enforce our Terms of Service, or protect the safety of any person.
- Business transfer. If the business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of that transaction.
5. Cookies, analytics and tracking
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for three purposes:
- Strictly necessary: keeping the Site secure and functioning.
- Analytics: understanding how many people visit, which pages they read and where they came from. We use Google Analytics for this. Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own privacy policy, and you can opt out across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Advertising and conversion measurement: where we run paid search or social campaigns, tags may record that a visit resulted in a call or form submission. These may set cookies that allow the ad platform to show you our ads later.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so may affect how parts of the Site behave. Because there is currently no uniform standard for handling browser “Do Not Track” signals, the Site does not respond to them; we do honor Global Privacy Control signals where our vendors support them.
Call tracking. We may display different phone numbers to different visitors to measure which marketing channel produced the call. All such numbers route to the same office. Calls may be monitored or recorded for quality and training; if a call is recorded, you will be told at the start of the call and may ask us not to record.
6. How long we keep information
- Estimate requests that never became a job: up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymized.
- Completed job and warranty records: for the length of the applicable warranty plus the period required by Missouri law and our insurance and tax obligations — generally no less than seven years.
- Accounting and payment records: as required by federal and state tax law.
- Call recordings: typically 12 months unless connected to a dispute or claim.
- Analytics data: per the retention settings of the analytics platform, generally in aggregated or de-identified form.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS) on this Site, access controls limiting customer data to staff who need it, and vetted third-party processors for payments. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
8. Your choices and rights
Regardless of where you live, you may:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Request deletion of information we are not legally or contractually required to keep (warranty, tax and insurance records may need to be retained).
- Opt out of marketing calls, texts and emails at any time, as described in Section 3.
- Ask us not to record a phone call.
Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and the right to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the sense those laws define, but you may still submit a request and we will honor it.
To exercise any right, email service@trueliftgaragedoors.com or call (314) 885-9565. We may need to verify your identity before acting — typically by confirming the phone number or service address associated with the record. We respond within 45 days where a statutory deadline applies.
9. Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults arranging services for property they own or manage. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. Third-party links
The Site links to third-party sites such as Google, manufacturer pages and review platforms. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information to them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices, tools or the law change. The revised version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes affecting how we use information you have already given us will be communicated by email or by a notice on the Site where practical. Continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
